Overview
A service post connector gives a solid, threaded post to which one or more service conductors are clamped. It is used where a cable has to be terminated securely and re-tightened during maintenance, such as at meter boards, service poles and distribution boxes.
Empire Alloys manufactures service post connectors in brass and in bronze. Brass versions suit most indoor and protected applications; bronze is specified where higher strength and resistance to coastal or industrial atmospheres are needed. Both are cast or forged from the company’s own copper-alloy melt and finished on CNC and special-purpose machines.
Indian service conditions include heat, monsoon moisture, coastal salt air and industrial pollutants, so plating and material choice are discussed with each buyer.
Types and variants we make
Single-wire connectors
One conductor per post.
Multi-wire connectors
Several conductors terminated on one post.
Insulated connectors
Connectors supplied with insulation for exposed locations.
Heavy-duty connectors
Larger bodies for high-current terminations.

Materials, plating and packing
Free-cutting brass (CZ121 / IS 319 type) is the default for machined parts; copper, copper alloys, aluminium, gunmetal and steel are also processed in-house. Plating options at Empire Alloys include tin, copper, chrome, nickel and zinc, with shot blasting and nitric wash available as surface treatments.
Parts are packed to suit the shipment: PVC or thermal PVC bags, cartons, shrink-wrap, strapped wooden cases or pallets, with every bag and carton labelled for easy identification.
What to send with your enquiry
- Drawing (PDF/DWG/STEP) or a physical sample, plus the part name or code you use
- Material grade and any standard the part must meet
- Thread type and size, critical dimensions and tolerance
- Finish or plating, quantity per lot and annual requirement
- Packing preference and delivery location (India or export)
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between brass and bronze service post connectors?
Brass is economical and machines easily; bronze offers higher strength and better resistance in harsh atmospheres. Both conduct well; we help choose by site condition.
Can you make service post connectors to a utility drawing?
Yes. Send the drawing and quantity, and the team will confirm tooling and lead time.
Are insulated versions available?
Insulated connectors are part of the range; specify the insulation requirement in your enquiry.
