Overview
Aluminium conductors are common in distribution networks because they are light and economical, but they need connectors made for them. An aluminium split bolt avoids putting dissimilar metals in direct contact on an aluminium-to-aluminium joint and expands with the conductor as temperatures change.
Empire Alloys manufactures aluminium split bolts in two main designs, a V-shaped box type and a round design, and develops custom versions from customer drawings. Aluminium is one of the metals the Jamnagar plant processes alongside brass, copper alloys and steel.

Materials, plating and packing
Free-cutting brass (CZ121 / IS 319 type) is the default for machined parts; copper, copper alloys, aluminium, gunmetal and steel are also processed in-house. Plating options at Empire Alloys include tin, copper, chrome, nickel and zinc, with shot blasting and nitric wash available as surface treatments.
Parts are packed to suit the shipment: PVC or thermal PVC bags, cartons, shrink-wrap, strapped wooden cases or pallets, with every bag and carton labelled for easy identification.
What to send with your enquiry

Frequently asked questions
Can aluminium split bolts be used on copper wire?
No. For copper use copper-alloy split bolts; for copper-to-aluminium joints use a bimetallic connector.
What sizes are available?
Sizes are made to the conductor range you need. Send conductor sizes with your enquiry for a quotation.
Do you export aluminium split bolts?
Yes. Empire Alloys supplies customers in India and overseas.
